Alasoba Kelsy-Braide

Alasoba is passionate when it comes to her work in all areas of community service. She strongly believes that inclusivity and diversity are important tools to create a safe community where everyone thrives regardless of their age, race, gender, and sexual orientation. Coming to Orillia as an International student from Nigeria she has made Orillia her home. While at Georgian College she was VP of Community Engagement where she initiated and coordinated Black History Month celebrations.
Alasoba finished her Child/Youth Care Diploma from Georgian College while still working on the Community Impact Project with the County of Simcoe. She was recognized for all her work and received the Community Champion award at the Newcomer Recognition Awards 2022.
